Hi all you helpful people. Haven't been on much lately but I have a query from an old friend and wonder if anyone can help.

Harry Woodroffe & his wife, Mary Ann nee Keates arrived on the Belgravia on 2 May 1884. Can anyone tell me which children came with them please?
My friend tells me that they had "lots".

"ANDROMACHE" 1837

After years of searching, I have now been given information that my HANCOCK ancestors immigrated to NSW on the ship ANDROMACHE which sailed from Plymouth, England on the 10th July 1837 and arrived in Sydney 28 October 1837.
They do not appear to be listed on the Bounty Immigrants Index 1828-1842, or on the Miscellaneous Immigrants index 1828-1843 on NSW state records. I'm sure they would have been bounty/ assisted passengers of some kind.

Does anyone have any suggestions...

William Hovey Spooner- Immigration-1900 to 1901

Hello there, I was wondering if anyone could find the immigration of William Hovey SPOONER from England. His death certificate said he came to Australia in about 1900 to 1901.
Also reasons why he might have immigrated about that time?

Hi, not sure you can help me as I don't have much to go on. Looking for the Immigration of Campbell Archibald JACKSON also Ernest Gray JACKSON from London. All that I have is that Campbell JACKSON married at HAY NSW in 1893 & death cert says 23 years in NSW. ERNEST WAS RESIDING IN VICTORIA in 1908.

I think I have found our long lost great grandfather. A John R. Baskerville aged 34 arrived in Queensland 4 June 1877 on the ship Southesk, everything seems correct but is there any way it can be estqablished without looking up the fiche files.?

Just a few hints which may help you locate your elusive ancestors

1. Check all states for their arrival as they could have arrived elsewhere and then made their way to the state they lived in. A lot of these are online in our LINKS section under IMMIGRATION

2. If early enough they may have been convicts or bounty immigrants

3. Sometimes steerage passengers were not listed by name and only the number who arrived were listed on the immigration records.

To date I have not been able to trace an entry point into AUSTRALIA for my gg grandparents Christian Frederich FUGGER and his wife Christine BENZ.

Both were born in PFAHLBACH JAGSTKREIS WUERTTEMBERG, GERMANY, Christian 24th April 1829 and Christine 21st July 1833. They were married 12th July 1857 in/at EVANGELISCH OHRNBERG JAGSTKREIS WUERTTEMBERG GERMANY.

According to Ancestry.com records their application date for immigration was October 1857 and although not named,...

William Henry HARRISON born in WOLVERHAMPTON, STAFFORDSHIRE in 1827 is believed to have immigrated to AUSTRALIA in 1849 arriving on the " ANN MILN " as an assisted passenger in MELBOURNE but no one is completely sure if this the correct William.

Hello Liz and All.......I`m looking for an ancestor, Dominick STUART....could be STEWART.....born in Co.Clare 1899.....he married in Brisbane in 1930.
Found a D. STUART....London to Brisbane 1923.....on Findmypast......don`t have a sub. so couldn`t view details.....this is a possibility.
He settled in the Nth.of Qld....Tully area so could have come ashore up there somewhere.

Dominick died 1985 ....age 86 yrs....buried Tully.

Simon and Adam SMITH immigrated to Australia from Scotland between 1860-1870. We think they arrived in NSW
Simon Smith was born 1841 in Shetland his brother Adam was born 1845
Could someone lookup the Assisted Shipping list for me to see if they can find the arrival date of these two brothers
I am guessing assisted because they were not rich.

Annie Marjoram born 1896 NSW married Archibald Edmund Webster in Orange 1918, they divorced and she married
Edward R White in Sydney 1933, Annie died in Sydney in 1950.

Any chance of finding a photo of the ship mentioned below.....? (Captain's name differs in the entries)

The "Wilhelmina Maria" left Hamburg and journeyed to Australia. At the helm of the ship was Captain Roysen, they touched at Bahie on 12th July and arrived Port Adelaide, South Australia on 30 August 1849.
