Need some feedback please on ads on this site
We have had none since opening this site as we paid to have them removed
How do members feel about allowing ads on this site and would you find them annoying?
Many pop up ads etc. can be removed by ad blocking software so there is an option available to you if you don't like them
If too many people find them annoying (which I do) then I will get them removed for another year

Hello

I am looking for details of Elizabeth Handley born about 1843 Glamorganshire (assume Scotland) to Timothy Handley and Mary Julia Murphy.

Elizabeth married William Hickson born about 1839 before 1862 when they had Richard Hickson in Victoria. ( I have details of 10 children)

Mary Julia Handley nee Murphy died in Korweinguboora Vic 1887 aged 81 -

Looking for siblings of Elizabeth Handley - and arrival in Australia of Elizabeth and /or parents....

This fellow was born in 1880 and went under the name of Archie. He married in 1923 registered at Cooma to Marcia J. BERRY. Have not been able to find anything further on them apart from his death in 1952 Reg. at Forbes. There isn't an entry on the Ryerson Index for this so I've come to a standstill. There are no deaths in the indexes for Marcia (Marcie) and I would assume she would have died by 1978 but she may have been younger than Archie. I could find no re-marriage in NSW BDMs...

Am wondering if there is anyone who might be able to give me some clues about this family and where I could go to find out a little about them. Perhaps Electoral Rolls may give some clues, but I don't have access to them.

My query is with the family of Daltina Christina M(argaret) STARR, who had a child, Vivian D. Starr in 1906 reg. at Paddington. No father given at the time & I've not found a death or a marriage for him (her?) either under the STARR or WALL surnames....

Harry Woodroffe & his wife, Mary Ann nee Keates arrived on the Belgravia on 2 May 1884. Can anyone tell me which children came with them please?
My friend tells me that they had "lots".

Does anyone have any info about a Patrick McGILL and a Alice McCARTAN who had several children in Tasmania c. 1857
This family went back to England at some stage before 1865 as they had a child Mary b. 1865 in York
I have found 2 children born in Tasmania but no names recorded for them and one possible death of one of these children - a James Joseph McGILL
Looking for a birth of a Catherine McGILL and a Henry McGILL born to this couple in australia c. 1857/62

I'm looking for more details on Stanley Douglas BENSON born 11 Aug 1899 in Brunswick, Vic. Married Ethel Caroline PUXLEY in 1922 in Vic. Had Beryl Valerie BENSON, birth date unknown, but died in 2008.

Beryl married in Coburg, Vic (marriage date unknown) Alan William FERGUSON (birth unknown) . Alan died in 1991 (details unknown). They had children in 1946 & 1948 (names omitted here).

Anything to fill in the gaps will be very welcome.

Looking for any information about an Elizabeth O'BRIEN who married Richard RYAN at Cowra in 1900, she later married Partick PIPE/PIKE she died in 1961 at Cowra. She was the daughter of my great grandmother Johanna ADAMS. On her death registration on NSW BDM it lists her father's name as David. I have not been able to find a birth for her but she would have been born some where between 1880 and 1884 as her mother was born in 1866 so in 1880 she would have been 14 quite young but...

Acid Free Gloves

Does any one have any idea where I could purchase acid free gloves ?

I received a 60th birthday pressie from my God Daughter yesterday that contained an original edition of the Wednesday 2nd November 1949 Daily Telegraph, also the February 1873 edition of the Sydney Morning Herald. As they came in acid free sleves I would like to keep them as free from any sort of contamination as possible so as to prolong their life hence the question.

Any suggestions ?
